Massive Cannabis Haul Uncovered in St Martin's Hill Raid
Over 60 Plants Found in Two-Storey Grow Operation
Kent cops cracked down hard after a tip-off led them to a property on St Martin’s Hill on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. The city’s Community Policing Team swooped in and uncovered more than 60 cannabis plants at various growth stages scattered across two floors.
Alongside the plants, bags of harvested cannabis were seized as part of a wider crackdown on illegal drug production.
Ongoing Hunt for Culprits Behind Ganja Farm
The investigation is still underway to track down who’s running the illicit cannabis cultivation. Police warn that the cash made from these operations almost always lines the pockets of organised crime syndicates.
Police Urge the Public to Report Suspicious Activity
“The profits made from cultivation sites of this kind invariably end up in the hands of criminal groups, and I am glad we have taken these drugs out of circulation,” said Sergeant Lee Thompson of Canterbury’s Community Policing Team.
He added: “If you suspect drugs are being grown, produced, or sold in your area, please contact Kent Police immediately via the website, call 101, or dial 999 if a crime is happening right now.”
