Prime Suspect in Suzy Lamplugh Case on Deathbed

Shock revelation last night – John Cannan, the prime suspect in the mysterious 1986 disappearance of estate agent Suzy Lamplugh, is now on his deathbed. The 68-year-old is receiving end-of-life palliative care in Full Sutton prison, East Yorkshire.

Family Pleads for Truth Before It’s Too Late

Suzy’s family, who have never given up hope despite her body never being found, are desperate for Cannan to finally come clean before he dies. The 25-year-old vanished in Fulham, West London, after meeting a mysterious “Mr Kipper” while showing a house.

“I would like Cannan, if he knows, to tell us what happened to Suze,” Suzy’s brother Richard told the Mirror. “It would mean a great deal to the family.”

The Chilling Details

  • Suzy went missing in July 1986.
  • Her white Ford Fiesta was abandoned a mile-and-a-half away with doors unlocked and handbrake off.
  • Police named Cannan as the main suspect in 2002 but lacked enough evidence to charge him.

Over the years, police have dug in several locations linking Cannan, including Worcestershire and his mother’s home in Sutton Coldfield. Yet Suzy’s fate remains a haunting mystery.

Cannan: Denial, Illness, and Parole Hopes

Cannan is serving life for the 1987 abduction and murder of Shirley Banks and has three life sentences. He publicly denies involvement in Suzy’s disappearance, fearing it will stall his parole after years fighting illness and wheelchair use following a stroke.

“I had no involvement in Suzy Lamplugh’s disappearance,” Cannan stated in 2019. “The police use her case to smear me.”

Retired detective Jim Dickie, who spent six years on the case, branded Cannan “a master manipulator who should not be trusted.”

With Cannan’s final days ticking away, Suzy’s family cling to hope. They just want the truth – and peace at last.
