Horror Crash in Portsmouth: Cyclist Critically Injured
A cyclist is fighting for life after a serious collision with a car on a busy Portsmouth roundabout this evening.
Crash at Fawcett Road and Goldsmith Avenue
The smash happened just after 4.10pm at the roundabout where Fawcett Road meets Goldsmith Avenue. Police say the cyclist was hit as they entered the roundabout by a vehicle.
Emergency services rushed to the scene. Paramedics fought to save the cyclist’s life before airlifting them to Southampton’s regional trauma centre with suspected life-changing injuries.
Traffic Chaos and Road Closures
Police shut the southbound exit from Fratton Bridge while paramedics worked on-site. The exit remains closed as officers carry out a full accident investigation.
Authorities urge drivers to steer clear of the area and expect ongoing delays across Portsmouth tonight.
