A 19-year-old man was arrested in connection with the stabbing of an off-duty police officer by officers investigating the incident.
On Wednesday, July 20, 2022, the man from Orpington was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
The arrest stems from an assault that occurred in Commercial Road, Strood, in the early hours of Monday, July 18, 2022.
Prior to the incident, the victim was said to have visited a nearby takeaway where the suspect was involved in a verbal altercation.
The officer was airlifted to a London hospital with serious injuries after the incident. He has since been released.
