On Thursday, 4 August, police were called to reports of a stabbing in Highbury Fields, N5, shortly before 9pm
Officers were present, as was the london/" title="London" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="75471">London Ambulance Service.
A 15-year-old boy was discovered with stab wounds at the scene. He was treated by medics before being transported to the hospital, where he tragically died a short time later.
His next of kin have been notified, and they are being assisted by specialist officers. We are unable to confirm his identity at this time.
In the coming days, a post-mortem examination will be performed.
Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke has launched a murder investigation.
“My team is working hard to piece together the timeline of events that led to this tragic loss of a young life,” she said, adding that “we still need information from people who witnessed what happened.”
“Did you attend? Did you record anything? Do you know who was responsible for the victim’s attack?
