Grandmother Dies After Scooter Plunges Off Cliff in Spain
A British woman tragically died after driving a scooter off a cliff in Spain’s Serra Gelada Natural Park. She was with her eight-year-old grandson, who survived but was injured in the crash.
Rescue Efforts End in Heartbreak
Firefighters rushed to the scene around 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, launching a two-hour rescue operation. Several fire engines, local police from Benidorm, and Health Technicians from SAMU worked desperately to resuscitate the woman, but she could not be saved.
Ongoing Police Investigation
The victims were using rented scooters, and authorities are probing the cause of the cliff fall. Police are also checking whether the scooters met all legal safety standards.
UK Government Offers Support
“We are supporting the family of a British woman who died in Spain and are in contact with local authorities,” said a Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office spokesperson.
