Massive Blaze Tears Through Popular Persian Restaurant in Early Hours
A fierce fire erupted at the Diba Persian restaurant just after 1:30 am on Tuesday, July 18, sending shockwaves through the quiet streets at the junction of Halford Road and Paradise Road.
Inferno Triggers Huge Emergency Response
Flames roared through the building, prompting a rapid response with around 10 fire engines and 70 firefighters battling the inferno. Despite their efforts, the fire consumed the entire mansard roof spanning the second and third floors.
Widespread Damage Across Multiple Floors
The destruction didn’t stop there. The blaze also severely damaged half of the first floor and parts of the ground floor, leaving the restaurant badly wrecked.
Firefighters Fight for Hours to Tame Blaze
Crews from Richmond, Kingston, Twickenham, Chiswick, Heston, Hammersmith, Acton, and Wandsworth stations worked through the night. Their relentless push saw the fire finally brought under control at 5:17 am.
