Knife-Wielding Robber Strikes Kilmarnock Shop
Detectives are hunting a knife-wielding thug who terrorised shop staff in a Kilmarnock armed robbery. The brazen crook fled with a three-figure sum after threatening workers with a blade on Saturday, August 12, 2023.
Early Morning Horror at Meiklewood Road
Police raced to a shop on Meiklewood Road at around 7:30am after alarms were raised. Witnesses saw the suspect pull out a knife and intimidate staff before making off with cash. Remarkably, nobody was hurt in the ordeal.
Suspect on the Run – Police Issue Description
Authorities describe the man as about 5ft 11in, slim, wearing a light-coloured hoodie with the hood up, dark jogging bottoms, and trainers. He was carrying a dark rucksack and was last spotted heading towards the grassy patch near Hareshaw Drive.
Detective Sergeant Keith Hyndes said: “This was a frightening experience for those within the shop. Although no one was hurt, they have been left shaken. We urge anyone who saw this man, or has dash cam or CCTV footage from the area, to get in touch.”
Call to Arms: Public Urged to Help Catch Robber
Police Scotland are calling on locals to comb through footage from dashcams or private CCTV that might show the suspect. An increased police presence will be seen in the area as the hunt intensifies.
