Drug Dealer Nelson Aliaj Slapped with £48,658 Confiscation Order

Nelson Aliaj, locked up for 15 years in 2019 for cocaine conspiracy, now faces a hefty £48,658 bill or more jail time. The London-based criminal mastermind and his gang sold Class A drugs across Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, using top-up vouchers to stay under the radar.

Deptford Flat Linked to Drug Operations

The 31-year-old was caught red-handed using a Deptford flat linked to his illegal phone used in the crime. Even behind bars, authorities dug deeper, uncovering hidden assets in Albania—including property, land, and vehicles.

Pay Up or Face Extra Jail

On January 13, 2023, 1 Crown Court slapped Aliaj with a confiscation order demanding payment within three months. Failure means an 18-month prison extension, but he’ll still owe the money.

“The Proceeds of Crime Act is a very useful piece of legislation that ensures criminals like Nelson Aliaj are not allowed to keep the assets earned from their illegal activity,” said Detective Inspector David Godfrey of the Economic Crime Unit.

“We will continue to monitor Aliaj’s finances after he is released to make sure he doesn’t profit from crime.”
