Former Couple Charged With Murder of Little Alfie Phillips

Grim court details revealed today that baby Alfie Phillips suffered “the overwhelming cumulative nature of the injuries and asphyxiation,” prosecutor Jennifer Knight KC told maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone Crown Court.

Jack Benham, 34, and Sian Hedges, 26, are set to stand trial this October for Alfie’s 2020 murder in Hernhill, near Faversham.

Alfie Died After Night in Caravan

Alfie died on November 28 following a night spent in a caravan, the court heard. The toddler was under the sole care of Benham – his father and former partner of Hedges – at the time of his death.
