Ian Neasham, 64, from Londonderry Village, North Yorkshire, has been slammed with a massive 28-year prison sentence for a brutal 11-year spree of sexual abuse against young girls. His sickening crimes began when his youngest victim was just 10 years old.
Long Sentence and Lifetime Sex Offender Registration
Teesside Crown Court handed Neasham a 28-year jail term plus a four-year extended licence. He must serve at least two-thirds of his sentence before getting a sniff of release. On top of that, he’s permanently listed on the Sex Offenders Register – a lifetime mark of shame.
Brave Victims Helped Bring Predator to Justice
The vile crimes only came to light thanks to the courage of his victims. One victim spoke out in November 2020, sparking a police probe. Two more victims stepped forward later, helping build an ironclad case. Detective Constable Gillian Gowling led the intense investigation, gathering evidence from interviews, counselling sessions, Neasham’s home, and his digital devices.
Shocking Charges Laid Bare

After a gruelling ten-day trial, the jury found Neasham guilty of 24 of the 25 offences. He was acquitted of one indecent assault charge but faces decades behind bars for the rest.
