St Leonards Man Slapped with Community Order After Sexual Assault Conviction
Raymond McKay, 51, from Cooden Ledge, St Leonards, has been hit with a 24-month community order and a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order. He pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting one woman and attempting to assault another.
Shocking Assaults Caught on CCTV
The court heard McKay inappropriately touched a young woman twice between September 2022 and February 2023. The attacks occurred in St Leonards. Police tracked the assaults down through CCTV footage, which led to his arrest and charges.
Police Praise Victim’s Bravery
Detective PC Auryn Liddiard of Hastings CID said: “We applaud the victim for her courage in coming forward and sticking with the investigation all the way through prosecution. The Sexual Harm Prevention Order and sex offender registration should keep McKay away from her, her family, and protect others in the community.”
