Shoplifters Beware! Beeston Forces Tough Crackdown on Serial Offender

Lee Keeton Banned Across Beeston Shops

The Beeston Neighbourhood Policing Team has slapped a criminal behaviour order on 28-year-old Lee Keeton, aimed at stopping his relentless crime spree. Keeton, from Long Eaton, Derbyshire, faces strict bans from key locations including Tesco Extra on Station Road, Co-op on Queens Road, and Co-op in Bramcote Lane, Chilwell.

Zero Tolerance on Disorderly Conduct

The order forbids Keeton from lingering in any shop after being asked to leave and bans him from using threatening or abusive language anywhere in Broxtowe district. He must also abide by banning letters prohibiting entry into retail venues.

Guilty Plea Leads to Rehabilitation and Compensation

Keeton appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 21 March 2023, admitting to four theft charges alongside criminal damage and drunk and disorderly behaviour. He was ordered to complete 15 days of rehabilitation activity and pay nearly £41 in compensation, on top of his criminal behaviour order.

Police Fight Back Against Shop Disorder

“Keeton’s unacceptable behaviour has had a significant negative impact on local shops and their employees,” said PC Natasha Yaqub of the Beeston Neighbourhood Policing Team.

“We continue to deal robustly with people who act in this manner. I hope this criminal behaviour order will protect our communities from further harm at Keeton’s hands and acts as a warning to others – act up and you risk a criminal record.”
