10-Mile Tailbacks After Crash Near Epping
A single-vehicle crash near Junction 27 for Epping sparked chaos shortly after 7.20pm last night. Police rushed to the scene with support from National Highways, Essex Fire and Rescue, Helimed, and East of England Ambulance Service.
Driver Injured but Condition Stable
The driver was hurt but thankfully isn’t facing life-threatening or life-changing injuries. Despite this, the crash caused massive delays, with tailbacks stretching up to 10 miles.
Public Steps In Amid Traffic Nightmare
While officers dealt with the aftermath, several members of the public stopped to offer help.
“I want to thank those caught in the tailbacks for their patience and the kind public who offered assistance,” said PC Thomas Baskeyfield from the Chigwell Roads Policing Unit. “We always prioritise the welfare of those involved and aim to clear incidents quickly, but gathering evidence is crucial.”
