A pile of human bones was reported to the police by a member of the public in the Long Eaton area of Derbyshire, which was later found to be a toy model of Captain Hook complete with his pet parrot and a hook for a hand

The Long Eaton Police safer neighbourhood team (SNT) encouraged the public to report any suspicious incidents and shared a picture of the toy skeleton on their Facebook page.

The police said the concerned citizen who made the report acted in good faith, and the officers left the toy with the homeowner to dispose of.
