Last week, the Met led a massive three-day blitz targeting high-risk criminals. The operation aimed to clear drugs and weapons off the streets, with officers from Thames Valley, Hertfordshire, Surrey, Sussex, West Midlands and more joining forces. Key areas included major roads like the M25, A406, M1, and A40.

Huge Haul: Arrests and Seizures

The crackdown, spanning January 17 to 19, produced impressive figures:

  • 179 arrests for knife offences, weapons possession, drugs, burglary, and violent crime
  • Targeted efforts across multiple regions to disrupt dangerous gangs and offenders

Tackling violent crime remains a top Met priority. Officers from Birmingham to London worked closely with partners to protect vulnerable people from exploitation. The force pledged to keep hunting criminals and offer support for those at risk.

Local Arrests and Support

  • British Transport Police made 10 arrests in Camden and surrounding areas
  • Additional 18 arrests recorded by local units
  • Seven further arrests linked to ongoing investigations
