Police Lockdown at Coxmoor Road as Mystery Investigation Continues
Police have been stationed at Coxmoor Road since Wednesday, April 26, and will remain there for the foreseeable future. A tight cordon is still in place, with a strict no-fly zone banning drones over the scene as officers carry out their probe.
Experts Join the Hunt for Answers
The investigation team includes forensic scientists and an anthropologist, working hard to piece together the mystery. Forensic and DNA tests are ongoing to formally identify the individual involved.
Police Confirm No Archaeological Find Yet
Superintendent Claire Rukas told reporters:
“We know that the public will be eager to know what has happened and who this person is. At this time, there is nothing to indicate this is an archaeological find, but until further tests are complete, we can’t comment further.”
She added:
“We are treating this as an active police investigation. This is a complex case and unfortunately it takes time to get to the bottom of it.”
Investigation Extended – Community Asked for Patience
Initially expected to last seven days, the probe will now continue into next week. Superintendent Rukas thanked local residents for their patience, saying:
“It’s vital no stone is left unturned. We must carry out a thorough investigation to establish who this person is and how they died.”
