In a shocking turn of events, two teenagers have been found guilty of murder after an extensive investigation conducted by the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command. Alfie Kibble, 18, and a 17-year-old, whose identity remains confidential due to legal reasons, were convicted on August 30 for the murder of 21-year-old Gabriel Petrov Stoyanov. Additionally, a 15-year-old was convicted of manslaughter in connection with the incident. The sentencing is scheduled to take place six weeks from now, with the date yet to be determined.

The prosecutor argued that the three teenagers, driven by revenge for insignificant reasons and fuelled by alcohol, orchestrated a calculated attack resulting in Gabriel’s tragic death. Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen, representing the Specialist Crime department, expressed her astonishment at the fact that boys of such tender age are capable of carrying out targeted and deadly assaults against defenceless victims. She commended her team for their dedicated efforts in relentlessly examining hours of CCTV footage, leading to the successful prosecution of the perpetrators.

The incident took place in Bromley on November 4, 2022, following an altercation between Gabriel and the three defendants. Gabriel and his friend had boarded a bus after a night out, unaware that the defendants would join them a couple of stops later. The CCTV evidence revealed Gabriel’s attempt to engage with the group, albeit in an annoying manner, which prompted the defendants to grow increasingly uncomfortable with his presence. Gabriel flicked the ear of one of the teenagers, leading to further tension.

After Gabriel and his friend disembarked from the bus on Rangefield Road, the defendants quickly made their way back to the vicinity where Gabriel had left the bus. Armed with weapons, including a knife in the hand of the 17-year-old, a heavy motorbike chain held by Kibble, and a bottle carried by the 15-year-old, the trio spotted Gabriel in a nearby takeaway shop. Lying in wait, they ambushed him as he exited the premises, launching a violent and deadly attack. The 17-year-old fatally stabbed Gabriel in the chest, puncturing his left lung, before all three fled from the scene.

Officers and paramedics arrived promptly, but despite their efforts, Gabriel succumbed to his injuries the following day. A post-mortem examination confirmed that Gabriel’s death was caused by a single stab wound to the chest.

The subsequent investigation was exhaustive, leading to charges against all three defendants. Throughout the proceedings, the accused remained in custody until their conviction on August 30.

The family of Gabriel Petrov Stoyanov released a statement following the verdict, expressing their indescribable pain at losing Gabriel in such a senseless and unnecessary manner. They emphasised that Gabriel will always be remembered and cherished in their hearts. Despite the arduous and traumatic process, they have endured to reach this verdict, the family conveyed their gratitude for the delivery of justice.
