Sheffield Stabbing and Hit-And-Run Sparks Major Police Probe
Police in Sheffield have launched a full-scale investigation after a shocking double incident rocked the city centre in the early hours of Saturday, September 9.
Stabbing and Car Collision Linked
At 3:08am, emergency services raced to the junction of Carver Street and Rockingham Street. A man in his 20s had been stabbed. Just moments later, another call reported a man hit by a car at the very same spot. Officers are treating the two attacks as connected.
The stabbing victim was rushed to hospital and remains in serious but stable condition. Another man, also in his 20s, was treated for potentially life-changing leg injuries following the hit-and-run.
Suspect Arrested Amid Drugs Charges
In a dramatic twist, police have detained a third man, also in his 20s, on suspicion of possessing controlled drugs with intent to supply. He currently remains in custody as detectives dig deeper into the incidents.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Inspector Cockayne is urging anyone in Sheffield’s city centre to speak with officers if they have any information or concerns. He said: “Your help is crucial to cracking this case.”
Carver Street and Rockingham Street remain cordoned off while investigations continue. Anyone with relevant information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 196 of September 9.
