Knife Attack at Spanish School: Teen Injures 5 in Shocking Rampage
14-Year-Old Student Goes on Violent Knife Spree
A terrifying knife attack erupted at a high school in Jérez de la Frontera, southern Spain, as a 14-year-old pupil stabbed three teachers and two fellow students. The rampage rocked the tight-knit school community and shocked local police.
Attack Began Suddenly in Classroom
Just after 8:25 a.m. on Thursday, police were alerted to reports of an armed teenager attacking people inside the school. Witnesses say the teen stormed into a classroom, brandished two kitchen knives pulled from his backpack, and started stabbing at people.
One classmate told the EFE news agency: “He was clearly agitated and shouting threats before the attack.”
Heroic Teachers and Students Stop the Violence
The assault started when the attacker stabbed a classmate from behind. Panic erupted as others fled. A brave biology teacher tried to confront the knife-wielding teen but suffered a serious eye injury during the struggle.
The attacker then moved to another room but was cornered and subdued by staff and students, stopping further harm.
Possible Bullying and Mental Health Issues Behind Attack
Sources suggest the troubled teen may have underlying mental health problems, possibly linked to Asperger’s syndrome. Fellow pupils said he had been bullied at school, recalling cruel acts like having water thrown on him in the playground.
One student said: “He was often picked on and made fun of by others.”
The incident raises urgent questions about school safety and support for vulnerable kids in Spain.
