Bungling Burglars Fail to Break Into Stoke-On-Trent Food Bank
Staffordshire Police are on the hunt after two mucky-handed crooks tried to smash their way into a food-bank at St Mary’s Primary School in Tunstall, Stoke-On-Trent. The brazen break-in attempt happened on the morning of October 11, but the culprits fled empty-handed.
Thieves Caught on CCTV Trying to Pry Open Food-Bank
At around 8am, officers were alerted to suspicious activity on Harewood Street when two men sneaked onto school grounds. CCTV footage shows them wielding a screwdriver, trying to force open the food-bank door. Staff later found the door damaged and a lock barrel dumped nearby.
- One suspect wore a hooded top with goggles on the hood.
- The other was spotted in a tracksuit and Nike trainers.
Despite their efforts, they couldn’t crack the food-bank holding vital supplies for struggling local families.
Offenders Then Target Another School Building
Refusing to give up, the pair switched targets and tried to break into another building on the school site, which stores important school materials.
“When the suspects failed to get into the food-bank, which contains vital supplies for local families, these people tried to break into another building containing important school property,” said Pc Nick Davies of the Stoke North policing team.
