In a devastating incident in northeastern Bangladesh, at least 17 people lost their lives, and more than 100 others sustained injuries following a collision between two trains in the city of Bhairab. The crash occurred on Monday when a cargo train collided with a passenger train, derailing two passenger carriages.

Sadiqur Rahman, a government administrator in Bhairab, provided grim details, stating, “We have recovered 17 bodies. More than 100 people were injured.” The collision took place at around 3:30 pm local time (09:30 GMT), with the cargo train en route to Chattogram smashing into the rear two cars of the Dhaka-bound Egarosindhur Godhuli Express passenger train.
