Man Sought After Fatal Hackney Tesla Crash
Police want to speak to a man seen interacting with a Tesla driver just before a deadly crash on Great Eastern Street, Hackney. The collision happened at 5:54pm on Monday, 14 August.
Cyclist Dies After Horror Crash
The Tesla smashed into a private hire car and a cyclist. The 40-year-old male cyclist was rushed to hospital in critical condition but tragically died on Tuesday, 19 September.
His family has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
44-Year-Old Tesla Driver Arrested
The Tesla driver, a 44-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. He was held in custody but has now been released under investigation as inquiries continue.
The driver of the private hire vehicle only suffered minor injuries.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Detective Constable Phil Stokes, Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We believe the cyclist pictured can assist with our investigation and may hold vital information. If you know him, or you are him, please get in touch.”
