Tamworth Dog Attack Shocker: Man Arrested After Cocker Spaniel Fatally Mauled
A peaceful Sunday stroll in Tamworth turned tragic on November 5 when a man’s dog launched a savage attack on a Cocker Spaniel at Castle Grounds. The assault, which happened around 3pm, left the Spaniel fatally injured and its owner bitten.
Spaniel Dies Despite Emergency Vet Care
Tragically, the Cocker Spaniel couldn’t survive its injuries, passing away shortly after vet treatment. Miraculously, the female owner escaped serious harm despite also being bitten during the brutal attack.
Suspect Arrested and Dog Seized
Staffordshire Police acted swiftly. On November 13, they arrested a 22-year-old Tamworth man on suspicion of owning a dangerously out-of-control dog and causing injury. The suspect has since been released on conditional police bail as inquiries continue.
The dog, believed to be an XL Bully, was taken into secure custody as part of the ongoing investigation.
