Tragic Collision Claims Life of Man in Greengates, Bradford

On the evening of December 19, a heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Greengates, Bradford, resulting in the untimely passing of a man after a collision. The tragic occurrence took place on the A657, New Line, at approximately 19:05 GMT, casting a sombre cloud over the local community.

According to a police report, a Hyundai Ioniq car was travelling towards Greengates from the direction of Thackley when it collided with a pedestrian who was crossing the road. The pedestrian, identified as 75-year-old Charles Philip Baker, suffered serious injuries in the collision. He was swiftly attended to by emergency services and transported to a hospital for immediate medical attention.

Despite the diligent efforts of the medical team, Baker’s injuries proved to be fatal, and he tragically passed away on December 26. In a touching tribute released by his grieving family, they lovingly described him as a dearly loved figure in their lives. Baker’s children, grandchildren, and siblings hold him close in their hearts, cherishing the memories they shared.

The Major Collision and Enquiry Team has launched a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. They are appealing to members of the public who may have witnessed the collision or possess any video footage related to the event or the moments leading up to it to come forward and assist with their inquiries.
