Shoplifter Caught after Stealing Spirits and Sweets Across Kent
Between 17 November 2023 and 7 January 2024, Lewis O’Brian went on a theft spree, swiping bottles of spirits, food, and confectionery from multiple stores in Queenborough, Chatham, and Rainham. His targets included big names like Tesco, the Co-op, and B&M.
O’Brian Arrested and Assaults Police
On 7 January, police tracked down O’Brian, from High Street, Sittingbourne, and arrested him. During custody, he shockingly assaulted two police officers.
Charged and Jailed for Theft and Assault
The North Kent Victim Based Crime Team charged the 33-year-old with seven counts of theft and two counts of assaulting emergency workers. O’Brian pleaded guilty at Medway Magistrates’ Court and was swiftly sentenced to 130 days behind bars.
