Detective Constable Ricardo Jacobs has been axed with immediate effect. The West Area BCU officer was booted after a special hearing on Wednesday, 11 November.
Shock Misconduct: Lies and Forgery
Jacobs was slammed for breaching the police’s Standards of Professional Behaviour on Discreditable Conduct and Honesty & Integrity. The damning allegation? Back in November 2017, he lied to a senior manager about advice from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) regarding a crime report – and forged a CPS document to cover it up.
Disciplinary Hammer Comes Down
Assistant Commissioner Helen Ball chaired the hearing and ruled the claims substantiated. Jacobs was found guilty of one count of misconduct and swiftly dismissed without notice.
