David Soul, the American-British star famous for playing Detective Kenneth “Hutch” Hutchinson in the cult hit TV show Starsky & Hutch, has died aged 80. Born David Richard Solberg in Chicago on August 28, 1943, Soul leaves behind a huge legacy as both an actor and singer beloved across the globe.

Soul shot to fame between 1975 and 1979 with his iconic role as Hutch, winning hearts worldwide. Before that, he honed his craft in shows like Here Come the Brides and the film Magnum Force.
