Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Horror in East Ham
A man in his 30s tragically died this morning after being hit by a car in East Ham, Newham. The vehicle sped off, leaving the victim to die at the scene.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
The Metropolitan Police were alerted at 5:11am on Sunday, March 24, following reports of a collision at the junction of Barking Road and Arragon Road. Officers launched CPR immediately, joined by paramedics from London Ambulance and Air Ambulance Services.
Despite their best efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Hunt Hit-and-Run Driver
The car involved did not stop and fled the scene. Police have launched a full-scale search for both the vehicle and its driver. So far, no arrests have been made.
Authorities have identified the victim and notified his next of kin. A crime scene is in place, and detectives are investigating the full circumstances of the fatal collision.
Witnesses Urged to Come Forward
Officers are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage of the crash to get in touch. Witnesses should call police on 101, quoting reference CAD 1281/24 Mar.
Due to the incident, Barking Road is temporarily closed eastbound between Boleyn Road and Kimberley Avenue. Bus routes 5, 58, 115, and 147 have been diverted.
