A person has died after being hit by a train at Denmark Hill station on Tuesday evening.

Tragic Incident at Denmark Hill

Emergency services rushed to platform four shortly after 8.15pm following reports of someone trapped under a train. Despite desperate efforts from paramedics, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Confirm No Suspicion

British Transport Police confirmed the incident is not being treated as suspicious. Officers arrived at 8.16pm and paramedics attended immediately, but sadly could not save the person.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Denmark Hill station at 8.16pm yesterday evening (22 March) following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Investigation and Next Steps

Authorities will now prepare a file for the coroner as the investigation continues. Train services were disrupted but have since resumed as normal.
