Murder Probe Launched After Man Stabbed to Death in Haringey
Detectives are hunting witnesses following a fatal stabbing in Northumberland Park, Haringey. Police were called just before 6am on Sunday, 7 April, after a man was found unresponsive with multiple stab wounds.
Tragic Scene in Early Hours
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite CPR and urgent medical care, the victim was pronounced dead at the spot. Officers believe the man to be 46-year-old Okechukwu Iweha, a local resident. His family have been informed and are receiving support.
A post-mortem exam is scheduled at Haringey Mortuary later this week.
Detectives Appeal for Crucial Witnesses
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, leading the investigation, said:
“I am urging anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious to please come forward. Were you woken by a disturbance? Did you see anyone suspicious in the area? Please check any private CCTV or dashcam footage that might help us build a timeline. Another family is grieving, and we’re desperate to find those responsible.”
So far, no arrests have been made as inquiries continue.

Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines, head of Haringey policing, added:
“Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family during this tragic time. We are working around the clock with specialist detectives to solve this case. We thank the local community for their patience amid disruption caused by forensic work. If you have any information, no matter how small, please come forward. Officers are on patrol and ready to listen.”
