Knife-Wielding Petrol Station Thief Locked Up in Worthing

A terrifying robbery in Worthing has ended behind bars. Matthew Maule, 38, threatened a petrol station worker with a knife at around 5am on February 8th on Findon Road before fleeing the scene.

Police Launch Manhunt After Knife Incident

Sussex Police quickly sprang into action after the robbery and a related knife incident nearby. They issued a public appeal to track down Maule, who used to work as a groundsman on Gravits Lane, Bognor.

“Maule entered a petrol station and threatened a staff member with a knife,” said Detective Inspector Gary Jacobs. “It was a distressing incident, but thanks to the public’s support, we were able to identify and arrest him swiftly.”
