£10k Cannabis Haul Found After M4 Police Chase

Police nabbed around 10kg of cannabis from a speeding car on the M4 last night following a brief chase.

Chase Ends in Cannabis Bust

Just after 5.30pm, officers on speed patrol spotted a silver Mercedes tearing down the M4 near junction 15. The driver sped off, sparking a short pursuit through Chiseldon.

The Mercedes eventually stopped, but two men jumped out and fled on foot.

Police Helicopter Helps Catch One Suspect

Officers found a big shopping bag stuffed with roughly 10kg of herbal cannabis in the vehicle. A police helicopter joined the ground search, guiding cops to catch one of the men.

“One man, 35, from Barnsley was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs,” police confirmed.

The suspect was taken to Gablecross custody in Swindon. Police also seized several mobile phones and £445 in cash.

Manhunt Continues for Second Suspect

The second man remains on the run. Police are urging anyone with info to call 101 quoting crime reference 54220029590 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
