British Embassy Throws Star-Studded Bash for King Charles III’s Coronation in Buenos Aires
High Society Toasts to New Monarch
The British Embassy in Buenos Aires rolled out the red carpet to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. The reception attracted top names from Argentina’s political, economic, and civil sectors, alongside the local British community.
Hundreds raised a glass with Ambassador Kirsty Hayes as they sang God Save The King for the first time at the embassy’s residence, honouring the new royal couple.
Ambassador Shares Royal Memories
Ambassador Hayes recalled her personal meetings with King Charles and Queen Camilla, highlighting the late Prince Charles’s 1999 visit to Argentina. The event featured a series of images showcasing the prince’s activities during that trip, including:
- Wreath laying at the South Atlantic conflict Memorial
- Presidential dinner
- Charity polo match
- Visit to an ecological agriculture project
- Tour of the British Hospital
Music and Royal Flavours
The ceremony was brought to life by the Orquesta de los Barrios — young musicians from Buenos Aires’ diverse neighbourhoods — conducted by Néstor Tedesco. Guests savoured special treats, including the Coronation Quiche, whipped up from royal chef Mark Flanagan’s exclusive recipe.
The celebration sparkled even more with Nyetimber English sparkling wine, flown in especially for the royal toast.
