BMW Driver Stabbed to Death After Running Over Attacker’s Bike

A deadly road rage attack ended in tragedy when a BMW driver was stabbed through his car window after accidentally running over a man’s mountain bike, a court has heard.

Fatal Stabbing in Ladywell

Ahmed Gonladieu, 25, stands accused of fatally stabbing Alexandros Josephs, 29, through the window of his car on May 10, 2023. The horrific attack unfolded on Malyons Road, Ladywell, south-east London.

According to court testimony, after the stabbing, a mortally wounded Josephs lost control and crashed his BMW into a row of parked cars.

Gonladieu denies both murder and carrying a knife.

Witness Describes Chilling Attack

Prosecutor Jacob Hallam, KC, told the Old Bailey:

“At around 1:48 pm, CCTV shows Alexandros Josephs driving a grey BMW down a dead-end road in Ladywell. Seven minutes later, the same car speeds back north and crashes into parked vehicles. Inside, Mr Josephs is dying from a deep stab wound cutting through his liver and aorta.”

A witness heard male voices and looked out to see the BMW stopped with a man on a black mountain bike beside the driver’s open window.

The witness then heard metal scraping. They saw the BMW drag the mountain bike along the road while the man brandished a large knife and stabbed through the window.

After stabbing Mr Josephs, the attacker fled yelling and caught an Uber home shortly after.

Aftermath and Ongoing Trial

Emergency services rushed to the scene but Mr Josephs was pronounced dead at once. The crash caused serious damage to his car.

Gonladieu was later arrested at around 9 pm near a car with others, according to court reports.

The trial is ongoing, as the Old Bailey seeks to uncover why Gonladieu stabbed Mr Josephs and the full chain of events that led to the fatal confrontation.

This violent stabbing has shocked the Ladywell community and attracted widespread attention, with jurors hearing gripping eyewitness accounts as the case unfolds.
