Seven Charged After Brutal Midnight Attack on Rogers Road
Seven suspects have been charged following a savage attack on Rogers Road that rocked the community last month. The violent assault targeted three men around midnight on June 6, leaving one seriously injured.
Violent Ambush in Car Leaves One Kidnapped and Beaten
The victims were sitting in a vehicle when three other cars pulled up and launched a vicious attack. Two men, aged 19 and 21, suffered stab and slash wounds but managed to flee the scene. A third man, just 20 years old, was kidnapped and savagely attacked with weapons, sustaining serious injuries. Thankfully, all three are expected to survive and recover fully.
Armed Burglary Linked to Attack
The violence didn’t end there. Armed men also broke into a house on Chipperfield Road, stealing items during the chaotic night.
Suspects Named and Charged
Following an intense investigation, police charged seven individuals over the last ten days. They include:
- Ghazanfar Muhammed, 19, of Towcester Croft, Bromford
- Haashim Hussain, 19, of Peplow Road, Lea Hall
- Umar Khan, 20, of Station Street, Handsworth
- A 17-year-old whose name is withheld due to legal restrictions
- Adil Ahmed, 19, of Ludlow Road, Birmingham
- Lisa Sullivan, 38, of Crompton Road, Lozells
- Safyaan Baga, 20, no fixed address
The charges include kidnapping, three counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and aggravated burglary. All appeared before Birmingham Magistrates Court on June 20 and were remanded in custody. They are due back at Birmingham Crown Court on July 18.
Additional Charges and Court Appearances
Adil Ahmed faces extra charges of false imprisonment and appeared separately before magistrates on June 24. He was also remanded in custody for the same court date.
Lisa Sullivan, charged with assisting offenders, has been granted bail and will appear at Crown Court on July 18.
Safyaan Baga faces multiple charges and was remanded after appearing at Birmingham Magistrates Court on June 29. He is also due at Crown Court on July 18.
Investigation Ongoing
Police continue probing the ruthless attack’s motive and are investigating the burglary linked to the same incident. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward as the investigation presses on.
