Met Police Launch Urgent Investigation
The Metropolitan Police were alerted at 2:14pm on Monday after a member of the public spotted the bones. Officers rushed to the scene to begin inquiries.
“Police were called at 2:14pm on Monday, July 29 to Foots Cray Meadows, Sidcup after a member of the public reported finding bones in a riverbank area,” a Met spokesman confirmed.
The remains have been sent for specialist analysis to confirm if they are human and to establish their age.

Foots Cray Meadows, a popular local beauty spot, is now sealed off. Police are conducting extensive searches for more evidence all while the forensic teams work tirelessly.
