Derelict Building Goes Up in Flames Near Whitehawk Transmitter
Flames ripped through a rundown building near the Whitehawk transmitter on Race Hill, Brighton, on Wednesday evening at 7:33pm. Thick smoke quickly billowed over Whitehawk Valley, sparking worry among nearby residents.
Fire Crews Rush to Blaze
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) were on the scene fast. A spokesperson said, “We were called at 7:33pm to a fire on Whitehawk Hill Road in Brighton. The building is well alight, and a hose reel jet is in use. There are no casualties.”
Cause Still Unknown
Firefighters battled hard to control the blaze. Thankfully, no one was hurt. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
