Worksop Tragedy: David Chivers, 72, Killed in Shocking Car Collision
Police have named the victim of a fatal crash in Worksop. David Chivers, aged 72 and a local resident, died at the scene after being hit by a car at the entrance to the Priorswell Road car park around 11:50 AM on Thursday, 12 September.
Driver Cooperating as Police Probe Continues
The driver stayed at the scene and is fully cooperating with police. Officers are working to piece together exactly how the tragic incident unfolded. Detective Constable Emma Temple of Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:
“This was a tragic and distressing incident, and our thoughts are with the victim’s family, friends, and the wider community at this time.”
Witnesses Urged to Come Forward
DC Temple called on anyone who saw the collision or has dashcam footage to step forward. She added:
“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, who hasn’t yet come forward, or any drivers who may have recorded dashcam footage that may be helpful to our investigation, to get in touch with us.”
