Murder Investigation Launched in Doncaster’s Hyde Park

A murder investigation is now underway in Doncaster following the tragic death of a 42-year-old man in the Hyde Park area during the early hours of Thursday, September 19.

Emergency services were alerted at around 5.31am , with a member of the public informing police of an injured man in an alleyway between Apley Road and Whitburn Road. Officers from South Yorkshire Police, alongside paramedics from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, quickly responded to the scene.

Upon their arrival, they discovered the man suffering from serious injuries. He was immediately rushed to hospital via ambulance but, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, was sadly pronounced dead shortly after reaching the hospital.

Authorities have since cordoned off the area to facilitate the investigation. South Yorkshire Police are treating the death as suspicious and have launched a full murder inquiry.

Police are now appealing to the public for any information that might assist in the investigation. Witnesses or anyone with relevant details are encouraged to contact South Yorkshire Police by calling 101 and quoting incident number 123 of September 19, 2024.
