Man Jailed After Crawley Stabbing Incident

Sussex Police were called to reports of a man armed with a knife at Dalewood Gardens at around 6:40 p.m. on 5 February. Upon arrival, officers found a 46-year-old man from Crawley suffering from a stab wound. He was immediately taken to hospital for treatment.

The court heard that the attacker, Louis Munorrah, stabbed the victim after an altercation at an address on Woodfield Road. Munorrah was arrested at the scene and later charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm. In March, at Lewes Crown Court, he pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Following a five-day trial at Lewes Crown Court, which commenced on Monday, 16 September, a jury found Munorrah guilty of the offence. On Friday, 20 September, the 40-year-old from Woodfield Road, Crawley, was sentenced to three years and 11 months in prison.

Investigator Zoe Broster from Sussex Police commented on the case, stating: “Sussex Police takes a zero-tolerance approach to knife crime, and this is another offender who is now off the streets. This was an altercation that escalated, resulting in serious injuries to the victim. Our priority is to catch offenders, investigate thoroughly, and bring them before the courts.”
