Police probe Canterbury Phone robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery and assault that took place in Canterbury during the early hours of Saturday, October 12, 2024.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., a man was walking along Stour Street while using his phone when another man reportedly attempted to steal the device. After the victim resisted, the offender assaulted him before fleeing the scene empty-handed.

Emergency services were called, and the victim was taken to hospital with injuries to his head and arm. He has since been discharged. The incident occurred near the junction of Stour Street and Hospital Lane.

Kent Police are actively investigating the case, reviewing CCTV footage from the area and speaking with potential witnesses.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to identify the suspect involved.
