Van Thief Nabbed Within 30 Minutes in Rochester
A brazen van thief was caught red-handed just half an hour after stealing a delivery van in Rochester on Thursday, October 10, 2024. Thanks to swift police work and a keen sniffer dog, the suspect was quickly behind bars.
Quick Police Response Leads to Arrest
At around 1pm, a delivery driver reported her van stolen from Invicta Drive, complete with several parcels inside. kent.police.uk" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="Kent Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Kent Police launched an immediate search and found a man matching the suspect’s description just 30 minutes later on Knights Road.
Van and Parcels Recovered – Phone Tracked by Police Dog Boris
The stolen van was recovered nearby on Marley Road with all parcels still intact. A police dog named Boris played a vital role by sniffing out the victim’s mobile phone, which had been discarded in a nearby bush.
Suspect Arrested and Bailed
A 24-year-old man from Rochester was arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle theft, driving while disqualified, and drug driving. He has since been bailed as Kent Police carry on with their investigations.
