Fire at Dover Takeaway Extinguished as One Man Treated for Smoke Inhalation

A fire broke out at a takeaway shop on Cherry Tree Avenue in Dover on Friday evening, prompting a swift response from Kent Fire and Rescue Service. The incident occurred at around 7:01 pm when a deep fat fryer in the kitchen caught alight.

Two fire engines arrived on the scene, and firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus quickly contained the blaze using a fire blanket. One man suffered smoke inhalation and was handed into the care of paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) for further treatment.

The fire was fully extinguished by 8:03 pm, and no further injuries were reported. Firefighters remained on the scene briefly to ensure the area was safe. Kent Fire and Rescue Service reminds businesses and residents to remain vigilant around kitchen appliances to prevent similar incidents.
