Deep Fat Fryer Blaze Hits Dover Takeaway
A fire ripped through a takeaway shop on Cherry Tree Avenue, Dover, on Friday night. The culprit? A deep fat fryer that suddenly burst into flames at around 7:01 pm.
Firefighters Race to Scene, Fire Quickly Doused
Two fire engines sped to the scene, with brave crews donning breathing gear. They smothered the flames fast using a fire blanket, preventing the blaze from spreading.
One Man Treated for Smoke Inhalation
One man was overcome by smoke and handed over to paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb). Thankfully, no other injuries were reported.
Fire Out by 8 PM, Safety Checks Follow
The fire was fully put out by 8:03 pm. Firefighters stuck around to make sure everything was safe before packing up. Kent Fire and Rescue Service urged everyone to keep an eye on kitchen appliances to stop fires before they start.
