Drivers beware! The Dartford Crossing faces a series of overnight closures and diversions throughout the first weekend of November. Ongoing maintenance and grillage work kicked off on Monday, October 28, and will run until Monday, November 4. Both anticlockwise and northbound tunnels will be hit during late-night hours.

Key Closures and Diversions

The Dartford Crossing connects Dartford in Kent with Thurrock in Essex along the busy A282 road. National Highways warns of the following late-night shutdowns:

  • Friday, Nov 1 – Saturday, Nov 2
    • A282 Anticlockwise Jct 1A Entry Slip Road: Closed 11pm – 6am
    • A282 Anticlockwise Jct 1A to M25 Anticlockwise Jct 31: Closed 10pm – 5:30am
    • West Tunnel: Closed all night for grillage repairs. Expect diversions on National Highways routes.
  • Saturday, Nov 2 – Sunday, Nov 3
    • A282 Northbound West Tunnel: Shut 10pm – 5am
    • Ongoing maintenance with diversions in place.
  • Sunday, Nov 3 – Monday, Nov 4
    • A282 Northbound East Tunnel: Closed 10pm – 5am
    • Maintenance continues with signed diversions.
