A fierce fire tore through a fifth-floor flat on Amber Way, Hammersmith, last night, tragically claiming the lives of two cats trapped inside. The blaze broke out around 5:48pm on Sunday, November 3, 2024, sparking around 20 frantic 999 calls.
Massive Fire Brigade Response to Intense Flames
The London Fire Brigade sprang into action, dispatching eight fire engines and 60 firefighters from stations across Acton, Chiswick, Kensington, and more. Fire crews battled the blaze that consumed part of a three-room flat in the seven-storey building.
The fire was brought under control by 6:43pm, preventing injuries to residents, but sadly the two cats could not be saved.

“It was a very visible fire with 20 999 calls alerting us,” confirmed the London Fire Brigade. “Part of a three-room flat on the fifth floor was destroyed. Sadly, two cats died at the scene. Thankfully, no people were injured.”
