Officers stopped a black Mercedes on Aldi car park off Ventura Park Road at about 1.20pm yesterday (Tuesday 10 December). A snap bag of cocaine was found along with a burner phone.
Two people inside were arrested.
We then searched an address in Bolehall and found four kilogrammes of cocaine, believed to be worth around £400,000 in street value, along with a small amount of cannabis, scales and other items linked to drug supply.
A 29-year-old man, from Tamworth, has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession of cannabis, driving without a license and driving without insurance.
A 34-year-old woman, from Tamworth, has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession of cannabis and permitting the use of a motor vehicle with no insurance.
Both are currently in custody.
We’re continuing to target high-harm offences in our communities and have arrested more than 1,000 people suspected of drug and weapon offences since launching a crackdown in May last year.
Organised crime is a blight on local communities and is being targeted every single day by proactive officers.
