As London prepares to ring in the New Year, Transport for London (TfL) has released key updates for passengers planning to uk/topic/travel/">travel across the network during New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day celebrations. Here’s what you need to know:
Buses
- Some central London bus routes will be on diversion starting from mid-afternoon on New Year’s Eve to accommodate celebrations and road closures.
- A selection of daytime routes will continue running overnight.
Elizabeth Line
- The Elizabeth Line will operate throughout the night; however, there will not be any services to Heathrow.
DLR
- The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) will run all night.
Tube
- Tube services will operate all night, but unlike in previous years, travel will not be free.
London Overground
- There will be no service between Liverpool Street and London Fields on the Weaver Line.
- Overnight services will run on the following:
- Windrush Line: Highbury & Islington to West Croydon/Crystal Palace.
- Mildmay Line: Stratford to Clapham Junction/Richmond.
- Weaver Line: London Fields to Chingford, Enfield Town, and Cheshunt.
