Tragic Murder Shakes Quiet Lancashire Village
The family of 51-year-old Zoe Crowther have paid a heartfelt tribute after she was found stabbed to death in her flat in Church, near Accrington, Lancashire.
Horrific Discovery at Walmsley Close
Police were called to a ground-floor flat on Walmsley Close at around 12:25pm on Tuesday. Despite their desperate efforts, Zoe was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neighbour Arrested and Charged with Murder
Janet Connor, 52, who also lives on Walmsley Close, has been charged with Zoe Crowther’s murder. She appeared at Blackburn Magistrates Court and is currently remanded in custody. Connor is due to face Preston Crown Court next Tuesday.
Family Mourns ‘Kind-Hearted, Loving’ Zoe
Zoe’s family described her as a “kind-hearted, loving, and selfless woman” in a moving statement. They said:
“She will forever be missed. As a family, we are heartbroken at this time.”
Police Continue Investigation, Seek Public’s Help
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Fallows of Lancashire Police offered his condolences and urged anyone with information or footage to come forward:
“First and foremost, my thoughts remain with Zoe’s loved ones at what is an incredibly distressing time for them.”
“Although we have charged a woman with murder, our investigation is still very much ongoing. We are continuing to appeal for any information or footage that could assist our enquiries.”
